How We Worship
Teaching
Our teaching style will be interactive and thoughtful. Alongside sermons, we’ll include conversations with guest speakers, artists, and others who help us reflect on how faith connects to real life.
Table Discussions
Gathering around tables gives us space to talk, but there’s no pressure to participate. If you’d rather listen or reflect quietly, that’s absolutely okay. Step away or find a quiet spot if you need—it’s all part of honoring where you are.
Music & Art
We’ll explore all kinds of music, not just traditional hymns or modern praise songs. We believe sacred music can come from many genres and backgrounds. Art and other expressions of worship will be incorporated as well.
Prayer
Prayer is about centering ourselves and connecting with God. It can be spoken or silent, personal or shared. There’s no “right way” to pray—what matters is the intention behind it.
Our Methodist Identity
We’re a worshiping community of the United Methodist Church, rooted in the teachings of John Wesley and early Methodists.
We believe in both personal and social holiness:
- Personal holiness includes practices like prayer, Bible reading, and worship—habits that help us grow in faith and experience God’s love.
- Social holiness means living in community, loving our neighbors, and caring for people, especially those who are marginalized or suffering. Faith calls us to take action in the world.
Communion
We believe that in communion, we experience God’s grace, healing, forgiveness, and transformation. It also sends us out into the world to serve with love and purpose.
Liturgy & Creeds
These aren’t just rituals—they’re reminders of our shared faith and community. We invite reflection, questions, and conversation about the meaning behind these words.
